And it’s simply called Subscribe with Enterprise, some higher up didn’t try too hard with a catchy name. Anyway, right now it seems it’s in pilot or something. Its only available in Nevada, Missouri and Minnesota. And its not cheap. Like at all. With a $250 enrollment fee, pricing is $1499/month. You sign up on line with them and go from there. Whats weird though is even after you are a “subscriber”, you still have to call and make a reservation for the vehicle. With the kind of money t hey are charging, you’ d think there would be some kind of express service where you simple walk up, scan something and go. But h ere’s what that gets you:
Mileage : Up to 3000/month. The unique thing is that unused miles roll over. But it comes with a caveat that they explain: provided that at the end of the applicable calendar year, your mileage usage will be reconciled. That means that any unused miles will expire, and you will be billed an excess usage fee of $0.40 for each mile over the maximum.
You can swap vehicles up to 4
times per month and get to choose from their standard
compliment of cars trucks and suv’s.
Insurance
: There is physical damage protection included, but the person pays the first $1,000 and then Enterprise waives the responsibility of loss/damage to the vehicle. Liability is $100,000 liability coverage per accident for bodily injury to or death of one individual ;$300,000 liability coverage per accident for bodily injury to or death of more than one individual ;$50,000 per accident for injury to or destruction of property.
Maintenance:
is all included as well as roadside assistance. Although like I mentioned before, not to beat my own drum here, but most roadside assistance outside of AAA is trash. Meaning you’ll be waiting hours for any kind of assistance.
But there you have it. Another company is jumping on board the subscription
train and trying to make it a thing. However with its pricing, I don’
t see it catching on or making it nation wide. The ability
to switch cars is good, but you’re paying luxury car pricing for access to mainstream sedans. The mileage seems good on the surface, especially
the rollover miles, but I would look farther than that numbers wise if I were interested
in signing
up. What do you guys think of it?

$1,500 for access to a maxima or similar vehicle??? Someone is smoking something, you could lease 2-3 different cars at the same time for this money.

Was this designed by Aetna, Blue Cross, or Kaiser? Because I’m so confused right now I’ll just pay anything to make it all go away.

$1,500 for all the crappy rental-spec cars your heart desires? I guess if you were a frequent traveler this could be very cool, otherwise...

I priced out a traditional month- long rental in Las Vegas (airport location ), with no discounts, and found this:
These also do not include insurance, but that can be fixed with the right credit card.

I’m not even sure who the target market would be for such a dumb thing.

I’m in a monthly rental from Enterprise and have been for over a year. The cost for a full-size vehicle is roughly $1,100/month without insurance. That’s for unlimited miles. I’m also getting upgrades - sometimes p remium, sometimes SUV, sometimes a truck. Insurance is covered through my corporate AMEX.

If you can rent anything in their fleet it could actually be intriguing. There are luxury and sports cars available depending on locations. Like S-class Mercs, Maserati s, Corvettes, etc.
It could be worth it to the right person. The ability to switch between having a sports car to a pick up to an SUV or van when needed would be sweet.

I thought this was nationwide, so you could go anywhere and get any car, but it’s only in three cities.
Makes the Porsche Passport look like a bargain at $2000 per month.

Right? They could have at least included some luxury vehicles.

Luckily I dont see this getting off the ground at all. Like most subscriptions services in the last year or 2, it’ll quietly be folded once they see no one is biting.

I see business types that frequently travel like you said going for this. And even then though thats a big maybe due. Im wondering how they track the mileage since it seems to be pulled from a single pool of 3k miles.

This. They seem to have not realized that most luxury cars on the market ca n be leased for less, including insurance. These subscriptions seem to think that they are a good deal by being all inclusive when its much more than that Its the overall value proposition, including what vehicle(s) its offered on. Yea you get to swap out cars, but your selection is from rental grade mass market vehicles.

This needs to be sent to their corporate office. When their own long term rental pricing makes more sense than their new program, there’ s a problem. Like I said to someone else, they seem to think being all inclusive means its a good deal. Its not when you delve into the numbers.

I knew about their long term rentals. I think my sis did it one. I didn’ t know that they offered unlimited miles. That’ s a fantastic deal, especially with access to all the vehicles. It makes more sense than this subscription and I don’ t get why they didn’ t realize that.

From what I saw its only available with the standard fleet, nothing special. Would be cool to switch from say a Ram if needed to like a Camaro or something.

Oof and yeah... doing the math $50 a day is more than you’d pay for a even a nice corporate rate rental.

How much for us to put E90M3 in a literal rental spec Sentra for a year?
*at that point, it’s cheaper just to buy it

I know Enterprise has a fleet with some prestige vehicles, but I bet those aren’t included. I can’t see how this would work for anyone who doesn’t need a Suburban one day, a Caravan the next, a Ram the next, and a Camaro convertible after that. Seems like a small demographic.
Insurance and maintenance have a cost, but for most people aren’t hundreds per month. I don’t get these subscriptions either, even for prestige brands, I’d wager you won’t get loaded cars.

Yea, if your choices are between rental spec Malibus and Altimas then it’s CP for sure.
